r 1.5" thick and has a nice satin smooth finish. The table is completely solid and doesn't wobble at all. A ton of time and effort was put into this and it was worth the wait! The table comes all assembled in a crate. However you can take off the legs as they are mounted to the top via screws on a separate rectangle plank of wood. Me and my wife were able to get it in the house with a bit of effort. Total it's about 500lbs, so the top and legs are about 250lbs each. It was packaged perfectly and didn't have a single nick or scratch on the whole thing which is quite amazing for such a large and heavy shipment.
