This beautiful barn wood dresser starts with reclaimed wood that is 100 to 150 year old wood. The Midwest has thousands of barns no longer is use as they have been replaced with modern metal buildings. Many of the farmers loved their barns too much to tear them down so they just let they age gracefully as we are all aging gracefully. This creates an opportunity to repurpose this antique, weathered wood and turn it into something that will be used and cherished for decades to come.
This rustic barn wood dresser is an example of what can be made from the salvaged woods when thought and consideration is given to “details.” The details make the difference. Most barnwood furniture is primative and rustic and thus mostly associated with log cabins, but the details in this collection give it sophistication and refinement allowing it to transition into many different decors.
The Touch of the West Barn Wood Dresser is more than just a barn wood dresser, it’s a piece of history. We (all the staff here at Woodland Creek) feel this design is really something special. Every now and then we will look at a new design and all agree it is a home run. Our entire staff loved this new design the minute it was set up. The layered reclaimed wood has varying gray and brown tones and is heavily textured. These accent details contrasts the more even brown hues of the barn wood underneath. This combination makes the detail in the Touch of the West Barn Wood dresser really pop out.
