The hand peeling process leaves some inner bark on the logs and also leaves behind any burls, knots, and beetle tracks. Absolutely stunning look. Commanding appearance! Heavy, which is good. All wood with no veneers. Drawers are on smooth slides. You can actually sand the chest down and stain it to match your other log furniture. This proves it’s real wood.
