Beautiful yet simple Contemporary Live Edge Dining Table
Simple doesn’t mean boring, at least not anymore, thanks to our take on
live edge dining table design. Far too often we see competitors trying to combine numerous trends into one piece of furniture. The result being a mismatched and unappealing mess! That’s why we decided to get back to our roots with this, our stunning soft
modern dining table.
We started by thinking about the defining characteristics that we wanted to highlight. Naturally, this was going to be a
solid wood dining table, so the wood being used needed to be of the finest quality and offer incredible aesthetic value, which is why we chose
black walnut. An undisputed king of woods, the natural grain and color of
black walnut lends itself to simpler designs! So perfectly, to bring glamour without gaudiness. Next, we considered shape and all agreed that a rectangular dining table exudes a classic elegance and importance! While also allowing for plenty of creative scope when it comes to the base, underneath.
Given that we were aiming to design a
contemporary dining table, we decided to use a linear, modern black metal base that creates maximum leg space, offers optimum support and strength, but also fades away into the background, allowing the expansive live edge top to really shine. What you can’t see, however, is what it takes to find the perfect wood for the top.
Reclaimed Natural Wood Used in Creation
We use
reclaimed black walnut, meaning that we source from naturally fallen trees! The trees are then cut, kiln dried and nurtured. From here, our artisans use the wood to create a large live edge top. Then they finish it with just a clear coat, by hand, to preserve and amplify the stunning natural grain and markings within the wood itself. The term
“labor of love” is no cliche in our workshop, but why do we go to such lengths? Because we want you to love this table yourself and to make it a treasured gathering place in your home. Don’t go worrying about marking your table either! It is a solid wood piece of furniture, meaning that it can be sanded and re-finished, to look brand new! That means this is so much more than just somewhere to eat – it’s an heirloom in the making!
We ship for free within the contiguous 48 states and give you a 1-year warranty as standard! However, that’s where the ‘normal’ elements begin and finish. If you love this table but none of the size options are quite right,
