This broken S design base of this hand hammered copper table looks back to the days of the ranch wars of Western Arizona and East Texas. The broken S Ranch in that area in the early 1800s had two brothers. The older of the two was a cattle rancher. The younger was a sheep rancher. If you are familiar with that part of the country at that time the problem was quite obvious. Cattle ranchers and sheep ranchers are always arguing as to who owns the grass that both of their animals need. After years of fighting the brothers finally decided to stop the fight and raise their animals together...and the Broken S Ranch was created.
The Broken S was the brand used on the cattle and sheep of the ranch and followed into the production of a variety of furniture designs. The base of the forged iron foundation uses an inverted square that the broken S are welded. The upper ring adds a hold for upper S which supports the pinions that hold hammered copper table. This base creates an inventive design for the rustic western style hammered copper table. Just because we gave you a western story as to the inspiration for the base design, do not think this table is limited to just western decors. Quite the opposite, it will fit nicely into a ranch, mountain, Tuscan, Mediterranean, country or even cabin décor.
