This beautiful oak barn wood bed starts with natural aged barn wood that is over 100 years old. Barns throughout the Midwest were made with a variety of wood species including hemlock, pine, oak, ash, and beech (and other species). As the barns are taken down the wood is reclaimed and sorted putting the hard to find oak off to the side. Our rustic oak beds are made from this hand-selected wood.
The crafters used time honored woodworking techniques and handcraft a beautiful piece of rustic furniture. Woodland Creek only offers the highest quality rustic furniture. There is surely less expensive furniture in the marketplace as there are dozen of ways to cut costs, but the lines we carry are simply the finest available. To top it off, three coats of the finest protective finish available is hand applied so it may look rustic, but it is has a finish you will want to run you hands over.
For reasons of structural integrity, side rails are made from new growth wood that is finished and stained to match the reclaimed barn wood materials used for the rest of the bed.
