Bold design for your bedroom
This one goes out to all the equestrian fanatics. We see you and appreciate you! We also know that a lot of you would love to be able to treat yourselves to a solid wood horse bed and now, you can.
We know that a rustic horse bed might sound a little odd to some of you out there but bear with us and you’ll soon be wondering if you have space for one too! The problem with themed beds is that if you go too over the top, the underlying message and beauty will be lost, but go too subtle and it won’t please the true devotees. We languished over our barnwood bed with metal horse art and we think we have struck the ideal balance.
The frame has been constructed from genuine reclaimed barnwood. Adding an extra level of significance to the design, this antique timber most likely came from outbuildings used to keep horses. It also brings a little of that frontier charm into play as well, don’t you think? We couldn’t build a wild horse bed and make it out of new, smooth timber, could we? What an odd match that would have been. The side rails have been constructed from newer material though, expertly aged and stained to blend in with the rest of your wood seamlessly. We needed to be sure that we were giving you the maximum bed strength possible — for many years of happy use — and think this was a compromise worth making.
We knew that stallion bedroom furniture needed a touch of the wild west about it, which is why we also included hitching rings on the outer corners of the frame. Everything ties in, but nothing takes the theme too far. But can we take a minute over the phenomenal headboard?
A beautifully romantic depiction of a stallion and mare proudly standing side by side, the image has been crafted from hand-hammered copper. Skill of this level is not easy to find, but we have been blessed with a number of talented artisans that call Woodland Creek Furniture their home. When we started thinking about creating custom horse furniture, we knew we hand everybody we needed to bring our vision to life and they did not disappoint!
The design has a flow and movement about it, with the rich color of the copper blending with the reclaimed barn wood beautifully. It’s not easy to overshadow aged timber from heritage American buildings, but the headboard manages it.
Available in full, queen or eastern king size, there are plenty of options here, but we are always happy to discuss custom projects too. Get in touch if you have different dimensions to work with or a specific request for the horse design, as we always relish the chance to build on one of our existing designs, to create something unique and utterly personal for our clients. We’ll still ship for free*, even if we are making something out of the ordinary and you’ll get a year’s warranty too.
