When is a coffee table not a coffee table? When it’s made of stunning reclaimed roof beams and is a testament to rustic character!
Our wood beam coffee table is a little out of the ordinary, but we like to think that we’ve tempered our creativity just enough to make it a universally appealing design that would work in any home. And we do mean any home. The only snag is that you’ll all want one, but we only make a few every year. Let us tell you why!
Yes, this is a solid barn wood coffee table and we are fortunate enough to have secured a steady supply of genuine reclaimed timber, but locating authentic beams, in good enough condition to repurpose? That’s a whole other issue. Essentially, these tables are all absolutely one of a kind, cannot be replicated exactly and are dependent on suitable materials. Didn't this gorgeous design just get all the more covetable?
A reclaimed barn wood beam coffee table. You don’t see them often, but when you do; WOW. The beams themselves are so thick that the table top is incredibly sturdy and heavy, weighing in the region of 500lbs. These tables are not going to break or crumble, so we highly recommend buying one that you can pass down to future generations, but be aware that the timber itself is full of character.
Genuine barn wood, the kind that we source for our furniture designs, come with at least 100 years of history carved, etched and gnarled into its surface. You’ll find insect marks, knots and patina and while we finish everything by hand to ensure perfect touchability, the look remains decidedly rustic and old. What else would you expect from a barn wood coffee table that will still be standing in decades to come? You will be able to leave your own mark too, through loving use and natural wear.
We ask that you are flexible in regards to your size choices. Though we do offer five dimensions, the beams are not cut to width, owing to their antique status, so there will be some fluctuations. We will always let you know the exact size that we can offer, but the height will be set in stone. However tall you want your barn beam coffee table, that’s what we will supply.
The final finishing touch is the use of aesthetically appropriate metal trims. It would have been easy to slip into the realms of novelty adornments, but instead, we let the wood guide us, adding only straps where needed and keeping them simple, functional and understated. The result is a coffee table that we know you can house in any style of home, with rustic cabins welcoming it into the fold like an old friend and contemporary dwellings enjoying the dose of nostalgia and contrast.
