Custom Orders

Woodland Creek Furniture specializes in custom-made furniture. Woodland Creek is the only rustic furniture store in Michigan crafting many of its own lines of unique rustic furniture. You are welcome to visit our workshop and help select the woods for your project. Woodland Creek also carries several lines of furniture from specialized craftsmen from around the country and world. Customer orders require a 50% deposit to begin crafting. Balance is due prior to orders being packaged for shipping. Woodland Creek charges the balance the day the furniture arrives to our warehouse. Refunds typically require a restocking fee and will differ on custom orders. Woodland Creek is not responsible for supplier or shipper delays and “delays” are not a valid reason for canceling an order. We will work diligently with our suppliers to meet the promised delivery dates.

Stock Furniture

Stock furniture and accessory orders are refundable with an “In Store Credit” should the client change their mind or the item does not fit. If the furniture is taken from the store, the return policy is effective if notified within 7 days. Accessories are refundable within 30 days.

All products must be returned in the same condition as which it left the store.

If the product has been shipped and the customer changes their mind and wants a product refund, then shipping charges apply for the return of the product.

Real Wood Furniture, Doors & Mantels

Woodland Creek Furniture uses only real wood for all its cabinets, furniture and mantels. Many pieces are constructed with real logs and solid slabs of wood. We prefer and actually seek out wood with cracks, twists and color. This is the inherent character of wood and is not considered a defect.

Wood adjusts different times of the year to the moisture content of the air. In a sense the wood breathes. Wood will also adjust to the moisture content of your home. You may notice a slab move ever so slightly or even develop small cracks. A dry home may cause the wood to move or crack more than a home with proper humidity. Be sure your home has proper humidity levels.

Small cracks can be easily fixed by placing wood putty in with a plastic putty knife. Also, some cracks can be highlighted by dabbing black stain in the crack. With proper care this furniture will last for several generations!

Should one of our pieces become unusable and require structural repair, Woodland Creek will stand behind its products. Please drop off the item to our workshop, and we will gladly repair it. If you are an out of state customer, please ship the piece to our Kalkaska location. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer on warranty items. All mantels are unique and no two are alike.

We look forward to crafting you a unique piece of furniture!

Barnwood Furniture

The wood comes from old barns taken down in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. The barns we select are between 100 to 150 years old. The species are generally pine, spruce, and oak. We occasionally come across and use other species.

The wood is full of inherent character, blemishes, holes, and various textures. These are not considered defects. Only the elements, oxidation and time cause the wood to turn this wonderful patina. Customers may notice old paint on the bottom sides of dining tables. The paint has been tested and does not contain lead. The old paint is not a health hazard and thus not a reason to return a table. All our table tops and legs are crafted with aged barnwood.  Barnwood table tops rest on a structural support frame which is made from new, stronger dimensional lumber. The support frame is not visible unless you look under the table.

The barn wood is fumigated before it is turned into beautiful furniture. You can expect saw marks and different textures between the various pieces of wood used in each piece of furniture. These are the natural saw marks, natural imperfections and weather textured created over time. Occasionally, there may be some nail holes. These add character and are authentic to the history of the barn. When combined, the various textures and inherent character give each piece of furniture its own character – no two pieces are ever exactly alike and nor do we guarantee any piece will look exactly like a specific photo shown on Woodland Creek’s web site.
